2024 Update

Welcome to the redesigned Hot Pepper Latte! ✨ After 10 years of blogging, it was time for a little refresh. I wanted something that reflects the look and feel of what I read today, so I drew inspiration from my bookstagram feed. Turns out I read a lot of colourful novels! With a new logo created by Lenore Ramirez, a good friend and the designer behind the original Hot Pepper Latte logo from 2017, the blog has a new identity to carry it into a new era.

Much has changed since I began this hobby of mine, especially in the wild world of the internet. But what hasn’t changed is my love of reading and this space for shining a spotlight on books that may not always get the attention they deserve. There are some small changes afoot though. To start, these are my reading goals for 2024:

• Read 25 books
• Complete the Storygraph January Pages challenge and start the year right by reading every day
• Focus on reading for fun as much as expanding my horizons
• Prioritize diverse reads with stories from different cultures and countries
• Read a novel in French
• Only purchase books from independent bookstores (as much as possible!)
• Blog long-form about the reads that move me or I think require deeper examination
• Capture the day-to-day of my reading life over on my bookstagram

And that’s it! It’s a short list that goes a bit beyond my goals for reading and this blog but that’s the gist of it.
